Life is hard for all of us sometimes.

I’m sharing my story in hopes it will provide others inspiration and some tools to get to a better place. One thing I’ve learned is there is always hope. And reaching the most effective mindset is key.

Oh, and my paralysis is reversing...

Career Path

My career path in the people-helping profession started when I became a nurses’s aid in 1990. I soon earned my nursing license as an LPN in early 1991. By October 2002, I retired my position as a nurse, feeling a stirring in my spirit that I was being pulled in another direction. In early 2004, I experienced a health crisis that rocked my world and challenged my faith. After receiving my initial faith-based counseling training in 2005, I began working with individuals as a mentor and coach.

My completion of two graduate degrees along with post-graduate training further equipped me as a counselor in 2011. I sensed a calling on my life to serve individuals and families in this way, and I’ve never looked back.

My personal journey with long-suffering trauma, surviving a very rare disease and enduring nearly a year paralyzed below the neck certainly adds to my skill set. In addition, much of my life’s work has been focused on helping individuals build a strong support system, and work through trauma, anxiety, and spiritual abuse and confusion.

I am also a pastoral counselor and equipped to provide faith-based counseling and coaching as well. I love connecting with other believers, and I also work with individuals of various beliefs. I provide a loving and safe environment, free of judgment and shame.
